Join us Sunday, September 20 from 4:30-7PM in the Courtyard for a new community dinner event called The Longest Table, brought in conjunction with Opportunity Presbyterian Church, Mission Meadows Community Garden, Spokane Valley Library, and Neighbors Feeding Neighbors. Bring a side dish and invite all your friends; SVUMC will provide a hot dish and drinks.
The Longest Table began in 2022 in New York City in response to people's feelings of loneliness, disconnection, and loss. They set out a table in a public space, filled it with friends and neighbors, and shared a meal, and discovered connection, forged new relationships, and built community together. The Longest Table events have now been hosted in over 30+ cities across the country, brought to neighborhoods by local hosts, open to everyone and always free to attend.
