MOTHER’S DAY is May, 13h. Remember to do something nice for your Mom. Prepare lunch, clean the kitchen or your room, plant flowers, help with laundry – anything you do will be appreciated. No Youth Group on this evening – spend it with your Mom!
Last fall the Youth of SVUMC said that they would be willing to help out at Broadway Elementary with Trunk-R-Treat, Christmas Ornament Night and the Carnival. Guess What? The CARNIVAL at Broadway Elementary School will be on Friday, May 18th from 4:45 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. All Youth are asked to be there to help out with the carnival games. The school is located at 11016 East Broadway, between Bowdish and University. BE SURE TO SIGN-UP!
May 20th is the Senior Lunch for all Youth. We will meet at Applebee's at Mission & Pines at 1:00 p.m. Be sure to bring money for your lunch and an extra $1.00 to help pay for the Graduating Senior lunches. Have your parents pick you up at 3:00 p.m.
May 26th - 28th is CONVO at UPS (University of Puget Sound) in Tacoma. Samantha Wallace is one of the Inland District Youth Representatives to CONVO. Representatives participate in the planning of CONVO for the entire year. This is done by attending meetings held throughout the Conference and spending from 2 – 3 days out of town at these meetings. This will be her last year at CONVO. Her participation has been well received and she has done a very good job representing the Youth of the Inland District. Here at SVUMC we are proud that she has participated in CONVO and has represented SVUMC so well in the past with her involvement. Thanks Samantha, your representation has been appreciated!.
DO YOU KNOW ANY GRADUATES??? Do you know anyone who has graduated from college, technical school or high school since last June? How about anyone who will be GRADUATING this spring? If you would like to have them recognized in our graduation section of the Communicator in June, please stop by Kyra’s office and pick-up an ORANGE form. The forms are located in the hanging file box across from her office window, between the two windows. Simply fill it out, add a couple of photos of the graduate (baby and today), return all to Kyra and she will make sure the facts get written up. You need to have these completed and returned to Kyra no later than Sunday, May 13th . All photos should be marked on the back so they can be returned.
VBS will be held July 16th - 20th from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. On Friday, the 20th class will let out earlier than 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in helping this year, be sure to let Alyssa or Kyra know ASAP. It is rewarding to know that you can make a difference in a child’s life.
