COFFEE CHAT on Sunday December 2. We will serve between services so be ready to stay for clean up after Coffee Chat. Dress bright like Christmas.
This year the Youth will be asking our congregation to help out with their annual Christmas Giving Project or the Mothers and children who live there. STA Single Day Bus Pass is $4.00 each and they can be purchased at the STA Plaza in downtown Spokane. If you prefer to pay cash for a bus pass, please make sure that Madelyn or Kyra receive the cash. After our closing date, Kyra will go to the STA Plaza and purchase all of the passes. A display will be in the Welcome Center to let you pick up a tag and fulfill a wish. Please consider this a great way to get involved in the ‘giving time of the year’ for our church to help others. The last day to collect the gifts will be Sunday, December 16th. December 9th from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. will be the annual Formal Dinner and Gift Exchange. The Youth decided on Shari's located at 320 North Sullivan Road. The dress is very nice/formal – no flip-flops, no tennis shoes, no jeans, no shorts and the guys need to wear ties. Do not pay more than $12.00 for your gift. Please do not purchase $12.00 worth of candy for the gift exchange – TOO MUCH SUGAR! Remember to bring money for your dinner! Feel free to bring your friends with you to the Formal Dinner, but remember they have to follow the dress code and bring a gift for the gift exchange. They do not need permission slips for this event. Have your parents drop you off and pick you up at the restaurant. Also, remember that this is a business and you need to purchase food while you are there. A sign-up will be on Kyra’s window. We should be finished with dinner and the gift exchange by 6:30 p.m. and ready for parents to pick-up their Youth at the restaurant at that time.
December 14th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. SVUMC Youth will help out with 'Ornament Night' at Broadway Elementary School from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Sign up in the Welcome Center. Our Youth will help the children make Christmas decorations and Christmas 'shop' for their parents at the school. Please have your parents drop you off and pick you up at the school. Dress for fun in Christmas colors, Elf and Santa hats if you have them!
Our YOUTH OVERNIGHTER (be sure you have earned 40 points!) will be held on Friday, December 28th beginning at 6:00 p.m. Bring snacks to share, games to play, your pillow and your sleeping bag! Parents need to pick you up no later than 9:00 a.m. on the 29th. If you leave the church at anytime between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. your parents will be called and you will not be allowed to return to the Overnighter.
