The Welcoming and Caring Team coordinates a wide variety of ministries, all designed to connect people with what they’re looking for at Valley UMC. Welcoming and Caring is Christ through us, connecting people, making new friends.
One meeting each month, first Tuesdays at 6PM at church. Call the church office to volunteer! 924-7262
This Team plans and prepares to see that every newcomer and long time member feels welcomed and cared for. Volunteers greet Sunday morning worshipers with a smile. Volunteers call visitors, helping them with information helpful to them. Welcoming and Caring recruits and schedules the teams that serve coffee and cookies at 10AM Sundays. Name Tags are our responsibility too, to provide them and encourage their use.
Welcoming and Caring continually brainstorms ideas to make Valley UMC friendlier and easier for folks to get better acquainted. Is our website all it can be? We want to know. We have maps available of the church -- please pick up a map in the "Visitor Information" box in the Welcome Center. Would you like to be a greeter? An usher? Would you like to be in a Friendship Dinner? Would you like to take a casserole from the church to someone in need? All of these places of service and fellowship are open, and welcome YOU!
